How To: Valentine Sweets w/ Artsy Amy

by Amy

The day of love is fast approaching and you need a gift to surprise a certain somebody. I am going to teach you how to create a pencil heart with a photo on top.

You will need:

Red or pink construction paper

A pencil that is unsharpened if you want to give your valentine one, or a STICK of candy, no candy that is not in a form of a stick

Step 1: Cut out two identical hearts from the construction paper. Try folding the paper first and then cutting it out so it will be identical.

Step 2: Paste a cut out photo of you or your valentine onto one of the hearts. And on the other heart, write a message. Here are some ideas:

I LOVE YOU!!

Be mine valentine!

Roses are red, violets are blue, and I say Happy Valentine’s Day to you!

Ur SWEET!

Step 3: Paste the border of the hearts together. WARNING: Do not paste the bottom of the hearts so you can put your pencil/candy in the little opening in the heart. So, you should end up with a little Valentine’s Day gift that’s sweet and cute.

Or! You can make a card for your valentine and leave a heartwarming message for that special someone. Whatever works for you, go for it! But, the looks and feel of the gift doesn’t really matter, it’s the thought that counts. So, you can just say a simple message to them and I’m sure they’ll appreciate it.
